The original incineration plant dates back to 1932, with a new facility built in 1979

New Facilities and Improvements

Renovation of the ERU with the construction of a new energy recovery building
Creation of a sorting center for recyclable waste
New administrative building
Expansion of the pit and creation of a workshop for the treatment of infectious medical waste (DASRI)
Extension of the urban heat network from 15 km to 24 km

Operation and Management

Operated by Arianeo, a subsidiary of Valsud (Veolia Group)
Public service concession contract awarded in 2021 for 20 years
Estimated turnover of the concessionaire: €880 million over 20 years

Environmental and Social Impact

Treatment capacity: approximately 220,000 tons of waste per year (2019 figure)
